The Foundation Stone is prepared

The scrolls contain verses and names. The photo is from the original opening ceremony at The Watergarden in June 1993.

Foundation Stone for the New Building

Thursday, 30th November 2006, Community Day in Camphill all over the world. In The Watergarden, the community came together to prepare a wooden box of products, verses, photographs, an amethyst, some coins and a scroll of our names on handmade paper to be sealed in lead and placed beneath the entrance to the new coffee shop. Later a plaque will be set in the wall above the foundation stone to mark its position for future generations. On a wet and windy day in Ireland, we filled our temporary warehouse with warmth and sounded the bells to mark the celebration.

The First Blocks are laid

With the footings complete, the first blocks were laid on Monday,21st. The new floor levels on the street side have to be higher, which will give us quite a challenge to landscape the back of the building as it falls away to the stream, but that's something for later!

The site is cleared and marked out for a new beginning

A damp Saturday morning sees the footings being dug out for the new building. The paintings on the end wall were done in the old café for the farewell party.
